Job Overview

The Lead Water/Waste Water Plant Operator serves as Plant Supervisor and the facility coordinator for their respective facilities and areas of operation. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Acts as Supervisor for both plants.
  • Ensures that all required maintenance and repair efforts, including those that the plant operators and mechanics cannot take care of themselves, are identified, required documentation is initiated (i.e., work requests and notifications in accordance with the PWS or Government work control center calls).
  • Accomplishes all necessary maintenance or repairs needed (either as operations maintenance, repairs, service work, or work requests) in an appropriate and timely fashion.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs as necessary to prevent undue wear and tear, prolong the useful life of equipment and systems, and promote the most efficient and economical performance.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Level Ill Water Treatment License and Level II Waste Water Treatment license from the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation.
  • Two (2) years experience working in the Base Kodiak facility or a plant of similar capacity and configuration, working with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and PLC (Programmable Logic Systems)/HMI (Human Interface Software Integration) knowledge.
  • Must meet requirements of 18 AAC 74 and possess SCADA, PLC/HMI experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security clearance. if required.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
