Job Overview

Plan procurement actions for all supplies and services in support of contract wide operations on Ft Greely AK.  Ensures all purchase actions are performed in accordance with applicable Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR), corporate procurement policy, and Standard Operating Policy and Procedures (SOP).

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Acquire needed supplies and services from mandatory sources of supply as listed in descending order: Government excess, Federal Prison Ind., General Services Administration, Federal Supply Schedules, commercial sources, etc.
  • Ensures procurements are accomplished in accordance with applicable regulations (FAR, corporate procurement policy).
  • Maintain active source of supply listing, government and nongovernmental, for all types of supplies and/or services needed to maintain contract operations.
  • Ensure adherence to requirements (delivery time, quality standards, etc.) of all awarded contracts and subcontracts.
  • Determine fair price and reasonableness of bids received in response to solicitations.
  • Use automated work management systems (i.e., MAXIMO) and other various computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Adherence to government rules and regulations, company policies and contract requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.

  • Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing with vendors, suppliers and co-workers.
  • Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments.
  • Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.
  • Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Adherence to established company safety policies and ability to work in a safe manner.
  • Compliance with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • One (1) year experience with administrative or purchasing support to a contract or business.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level.
  • Valid state driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record as pertinent to the position.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree (or better) in business or related discipline.
  • Prior working knowledge and experience with automated purchasing system, to include Maximo.
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS contracting policies and procedures.
  • Training or experience in using the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
  • DAWIA or NCMA certification.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible purchasing and procurement experience for BOS contract or equivalent. 

 Working Conditions:

  • This position is primarily performed in an office setting using standard office equipment (desk, computer, phone, printer, copier, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Majority of time spent working on a computer.
  • Work requires the ability to operate a computer and work in a standard office environment, effectively communicate information in verbal and written form, read and review information and charts, perform analytical thinking skills, and use sound judgement.
